Why Design for Recovery
Choosing a Design for Recovery as a men's sober living program is about more than finding a place to stay. It's about joining a community that encourages accountability, personal growth, and the daily habits that support lasting recovery.
The Foundation Behind Our Program
Structured LivingConsistent routines and clear expectations help create stability and make healthy habits easier to maintain.
Meaningful AccountabilityResidents are encouraged to take ownership of their recovery while receiving support from staff and peers.
Recovery-Focused CommunityLiving alongside other men working toward similar goals creates connection, encouragement, and mutual support throughout recovery.
Growth Through IndependenceEvery step is designed to help residents strengthen life skills, build confidence, and prepare for independent living.
Creating Distance From Everyday Triggers
The places we visit, the people we spend time with, and the routines we repeat can all become closely connected to substance use. Creating some distance from those familiar patterns gives you the opportunity to build new habits in an environment designed to support recovery.
For men coming from Culver City, sober living offers the chance to remain close to work, family, and daily responsibilities while stepping away from the environments that may have made lasting recovery more difficult.

What We Offer

Employment Support
Getting back to work is often the clearest early sign that recovery is taking hold. We help residents with resumes, interview prep, and the job search itself, paired with daily accountability that keeps momentum going.

Life and Recovery Skills
Sobriety holds up better when day-to-day life feels manageable. Through house structure and peer accountability, residents build habits like budgeting and follow-through that early recovery depends on.

12-Step Programming
Our program runs on 12-Step principles. Residents get real support finding a sponsor, attending meetings regularly, and applying those values daily, not just during meetings.

One-on-One Mentoring
Each resident also gets one-on-one mentor time, dedicated space to work through what's actually happening beneath the daily routine, not simply rule compliance.

Money Management
Financial stress is a common, quiet cause of relapse. Residents build practical skills here: budgeting, saving, and money habits designed to last well past their time in the house.

Family Services
Recovery involves more than just the individual resident. We help families understand what genuine support looks like at this stage, and how to stay engaged without hovering.

Medication Monitoring
For residents managing medications, consistency matters. We help track schedules and keep residents connected to their prescribing clinicians.

Life in Our Sober Living Homes
Recovery becomes part of everyday life through the routines residents build together. Mornings often begin with personal responsibilities before heading to work, school, outpatient treatment, or recovery meetings. Evenings create opportunities to reconnect with the community through shared meals, conversations, and continued personal growth.
Living alongside others who are working toward similar goals creates an environment where encouragement, accountability, and progress become part of everyday life.

How Admissions Works Here
Starting With a Conversation
We begin by understanding where things stand, whether you're reaching out for yourself or someone else. Our admissions team will talk through what kind of structure and support would genuinely help.
Working Out the Fit
From there, we cover cost, logistics, and what's included, so nothing about move-in is unexpected. We work together to pinpoint what matters most: job support, daily accountability, or meeting-based structure.
The First Days
Once it's confirmed as a fit, we cover exactly what move-in day looks like: meeting housemates, a full tour, expectations laid out clearly. Most residents settle in quickly.
In Their Own Words
Alumni share what changed for them during their time with Design for Recovery.

Recovery Is Built One Day at a Time
A lasting recovery isn't measured by one milestone. It's shaped by the decisions, routines, and relationships that become part of everyday life. Over time, those small steps create meaningful and lasting change.
Build Healthy Habits
Create routines that bring structure to each day, making it easier to prioritize your health, responsibilities, and long-term goals.
Stay Accountable
Living in a recovery-focused home means having people around you who encourage progress, provide honest feedback, and celebrate each step forward.
Prepare for Independent Living
Practice managing everyday responsibilities in an environment that encourages confidence, responsibility, and personal growth.
Strengthen Your Support Network
Develop relationships that extend beyond sober living through mentors, peers, sponsors, and others who are invested in your continued success.
