Why Design for Recovery
At Design for Recovery, we've built our homes around the idea that meaningful recovery happens through consistent practice. Every day presents opportunities to strengthen healthy habits, take responsibility, and learn from the people around you. Our role is to provide an environment where those opportunities become part of everyday living.
The Foundation Behind Our Program
Structured LivingConsistent routines and clear expectations help create stability and make healthy habits easier to maintain.
Meaningful AccountabilityResidents are encouraged to take ownership of their recovery while receiving support from staff and peers.
Recovery-Focused CommunityLiving alongside other men working toward similar goals creates connection, encouragement, and mutual support throughout recovery.
Growth Through IndependenceEvery step is designed to help residents strengthen life skills, build confidence, and prepare for independent living.
Progress Is Easier to Maintain When Your Environment Supports It
Healthy habits don't develop in isolation. They're reinforced by the places you spend your time, the expectations around you, and the people you interact with every day. A recovery residence removes many of the distractions and influences that can interfere with progress, making it easier to stay focused on the goals you've set for yourself.
For men from Arcadia, structured sober living provides a place where positive choices are supported consistently while remaining connected to work, family, and ongoing care.

Strong recovery is supported by practical everyday habits. Residents continue developing organization, budgeting, communication, and decision-making skills while living within a structured and encouraging environment.

12-Step Programming
Active participation in the recovery community remains an important part of life at Design for Recovery. Residents receive encouragement to attend meetings regularly, connect with sponsors, and apply recovery principles in everyday situations.

One-on-One Mentoring
Individual mentoring offers residents consistent guidance, encouragement, and accountability while creating space to discuss challenges, celebrate progress, and establish meaningful goals.

Money Management
Financial confidence often develops one step at a time. Residents strengthen budgeting habits, improve money management skills, and prepare for greater independence after sober living.

Family Services
Recovery impacts the entire family. We help loved ones strengthen communication, understand the recovery process, and develop healthier ways to support lasting positive change.

Medication Monitoring
Residents taking prescribed medications receive support maintaining consistent routines while remaining connected with their healthcare providers.

Life in Our Sober Living Homes
A shared home naturally creates opportunities to learn from the people around you. One resident may have practical advice for returning to work, while another shares how they rebuilt family relationships or stayed committed through a difficult period.
Those conversations aren't planned, but they often become some of the most valuable moments in recovery. Residents also discover that encouragement doesn't always come through big milestones.
Sometimes it's as simple as someone noticing your progress, checking in after a challenging day, or celebrating the consistency you've built over time. Those everyday interactions help create a home where people feel supported without losing sight of their own personal goals.
