Why Design for Recovery
Choosing a men's sober living program is about more than finding a place to live. At Design for Recovery, every recovery residence is built around structure, accountability, and genuine community, giving residents the support they need to strengthen healthy routines and prepare for lasting independence.
The Foundation Behind Our Program
Structured LivingConsistent routines and clear expectations help create stability and make healthy habits easier to maintain.
Meaningful AccountabilityResidents are encouraged to take ownership of their recovery while receiving support from staff and peers.
Recovery-Focused CommunityLiving alongside other men working toward similar goals creates connection, encouragement, and mutual support throughout recovery.
Growth Through IndependenceEvery step is designed to help residents strengthen life skills, build confidence, and prepare for independent living.
Creating Distance From Everyday Triggers
Recovery often begins with changing more than your daily routine. Familiar environments can bring constant reminders of past habits, making it harder to establish new patterns of thinking and behavior. A recovery home offers the opportunity to step into a space where healthy choices become part of everyday life.
Men coming from Bell can stay connected to family, employment, and personal responsibilities while creating healthy separation from the environments that may have made recovery more difficult.

What We Offer

Employment Support
Landing steady work again is often the clearest sign that recovery is holding. We help residents with resumes, interview prep, and the job search itself, backed by daily accountability that keeps things moving.

Life and Recovery Skills
Sobriety tends to stick better when the rest of life feels stable. Through house structure and peer accountability, residents build lasting habits: budgeting, routine, follow-through.

12-Step Programming
Our houses run on 12-Step principles, and residents get real support finding a sponsor, attending meetings, and applying those values daily, not just when a meeting is happening.

One-on-One Mentoring
Each resident also gets one-on-one time with a mentor, a space to work through what's actually driving things, not just a check on rule compliance.

Money Management
Money stress quietly pulls a lot of people off track. Residents build practical skills here: budgeting, saving, and habits designed to hold up long after they've moved out.

Family Services
Recovery reaches beyond the resident to the people closest to them. We help families understand what real support looks like right now, and how to stay close without taking over.

Medication Monitoring
For residents managing medications, staying on schedule matters. We help track prescriptions and maintain the connection to prescribing clinicians.

Life in Our Sober Living Homes
Living in structured sober living means learning how recovery fits into everyday life. Residents build trust by following through on commitments, respecting shared responsibilities, supporting one another, and developing routines that create stability over time.
Those everyday experiences help transform recovery from something you practice into something you live.
As confidence grows, many residents discover they're better prepared to navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and make thoughtful decisions that support long-term sobriety.

Making the First Move
Starting the Call
We start by understanding where things stand, whether you're reaching out for yourself or someone else. Our team will talk through what kind of structure and support would genuinely help.
Finding What's Right
From there, we cover cost, logistics, and what's included, so nothing about move-in is a surprise. We work together to identify what matters most: job support, daily accountability, or meeting-based structure.
The Move-In Itself
Once it's confirmed as a fit, we cover exactly what move-in day looks like: meeting housemates, a full walkthrough, expectations laid out clearly. Most residents settle in within their first few days.
In Their Own Words
Alumni share what changed for them during their time with Design for Recovery.

How Structured Sober Living Supports Lasting Recovery
Recovery is strengthened by having the right environment to practice new habits, rebuild confidence, and prepare for life beyond treatment. A recovery residence offers the stability needed to keep moving forward while developing the skills that support long-term success.
Replace Old Patterns With Healthier Ones
Daily routines built around recovery help residents establish healthier habits that gradually replace the behaviors and routines associated with substance use.
Strengthen Confidence Through Daily Progress
Recovery isn't measured by one major achievement. Small victories, consistent effort, and following through on commitments all contribute to greater self-confidence over time.
Find Support From People Who Understand
Living alongside others with shared recovery goals creates opportunities to exchange encouragement, celebrate milestones, and navigate challenges together.
Build a Foundation for Independent Living
Structured sober living prepares residents for the future by reinforcing responsibility, healthy decision-making, and practical life skills that continue long after leaving the home.
