Why Design for Recovery?
At Design for Recovery, our homes give residents the opportunity to practice recovery in everyday life rather than simply learning about it.
Men are expected to take responsibility for their choices and commitments while having the structure and support needed to work through challenges. This approach helps residents build confidence in their ability to manage life beyond sober living.
The Foundation Behind Our Program
Structure That Supports RecoveryClear expectations and a consistent home environment provide a reliable framework for maintaining sobriety.
Accountability With SupportResidents take ownership of their decisions while having peers and staff available for guidance and encouragement.
A Community Built Around RecoveryLiving with other men who are committed to sobriety creates opportunities for connection and shared perspective.
Preparation for What's NextResidents gradually take on greater responsibility, helping them develop the practical skills needed for independent living.
Your Living Environment Can Shape Your Recovery
The environment around you can reinforce the changes you're trying to make. Familiar settings associated with substance use, unhealthy relationships, or old routines can make it harder to establish new patterns. A sober living home creates a different daily environment where sobriety is expected and healthier choices are supported.
For men from El Monte, that can mean creating meaningful distance from old influences while remaining connected to the San Gabriel Valley and the people, work, and services that remain important to their lives.
